The trailer for Showmax’s most recent Nigerian original film, “Dead of Night,” is available for viewing right now.
Chiemeka Osuagwu, whose credits include Far From Home (2022), Blood Covenant (2022), and A Weekend to Forget (2023), is the director of Dead of Night.
The plot centres on the three teenage girls, Chinaza, Onyi, and Ihuoma (played by Nollywood newcomers Favour Etim, Diana Egwatu, and Nene Aliemeke), and their heist scheme, which takes a horrifying turn when they get up imprisoned in an abandoned mansion with sinister secrets. The movie takes place in the sleepy village of Ekeoba.
Haunted by unexplained powers, they have to make their way through a terrifying maze in order to avoid Onwu, an evil force out to get their souls.
Dead of Night offers a riveting story that delves into the depths of fear and superstitions with its heart-pounding tension and eerie atmosphere. Starring in the horror film is Kunle Idowu, also known as Frank Donga, who has been in Nollywood Wedding Parties 1 and 2 and is nominated for three AMVCAs (Best Actor in a Comedy in 2015, 2023, and Best Supporting Actor in 2018).
Chuks Joseph (The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi), Allison Precious, and Eric Obinna (Inside Life, Razz Guy) are all featured in the film.
