Atiku Gives Clear Warning Against Shooting #EndBadGovernace Protesters

The formal vice president of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria Atiku Abubakar Gives clear warnings to the chief of police and the Army against shooting the #EndBadGovernance protesters.

Atiku on Tuesday posted on X formally Known as twitter that the Armed forces would be held responsible for any shooting on peaceful protesters by the military or any other security personnels.

The presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) of the 2023 election said “I want to give a serious warning to the military and police commanders in Nigeria that Any one who uses lethal force on civilians exercising their rights to peaceful protests, will be held accountable for crimes against humanity even after retiring from service.”

On the other had Atiku calls out the Uniforms Bodies telling them it the civilian right to protest, that they should make sure of safe and peaceful environment for the protest.

He also added ”it is our constitutional right to to engage in protest generated by our supreme law and jurisdiction

It is the duty of the Government and the Security Agencies Such As the Police and Military To ensuse that protest are safe and peacefulI wish to convey a stern caution to the distinguished service chiefs and military commanders of Nigeria’s armed forces that those who authorise the use of lethal force against peaceful civilian protesters will be held responsible for committing crimes against humanity, even in the years following their retirement from service. The constitutional right to engage in protest is firmly established within our supreme law and reinforced by the judiciary. It is the solemn duty of the government and security agencies to ensure a safe and protected environment for individuals exercising their right to peaceful protest. -AA.

In the post on X which Atiku Posted on Tuesday dated 6th of August 2024 still gives clear warnings to security agencies to avoid shooting protesters.
