Veteran Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor dies at the age of 61

Popular Nigerian Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, was recently confairmed dead at the age of 62 after a prolonged sickness which he haz being batteling for years.

The information surrounding his departure was opened by a social commentator, Morris Monye, on X Social Media, on Sunday 24th of March 2024.

We were told that Muonagor has being suffering from kidney failure for a very long time now, after which he was on dialysis.

This sudden news of his death comes as a shock just few days after a viral video went online where he solicited for funds online to help him have a Kidney transplant.

Morris Monye wrote, “We Are Deeply heartbroken by the Sudden news of Amaechi Muonagor’s demise.

“He was a talented Nollywood actor whose presence on our screens was truly masterful”.

“We watched with concern as he battled health issues, offering whatever support we could to help him seek treatment in India”.

”This tragic loss highlights the need for better healthcare in our country.”

The Nigerian News Agency reports that Muonagor, a native of Idemili South, in Anambra State, He was born on August 20, 1962.

Muonagor was an actor and producer. In 2016, he was nominated for AMVCA Which Was Best Actor in a comedy in 2017.

In the year 1989, after his youth service, Muonagor started working for a News Agency in Nigeria. He quit his job in the news agency a few years later for an acting role in his first movie as Akunatakasi in Taboo 1, which is in a Nigerian movie.
